Eugene Bisdikian is a freelance bassist, audio engineer, and music educator based in Rochester, New York.
Eugene has been performing on both upright and electric bass in a wide variety of genres for over fifteen years. His performance experience includes tours to Montreal and various cities in the eastern United States; numerous musical theater productions, both featured performances and private events; and praise & worship services. He regularly performs with jazz, rock, funk, and pop groups in both Rochester and the New York metropolitan area. In addition to being a well-rounded performing musician, Eugene also works as an audio recording and mixing engineer. He is comfortable working with all sorts of ensembles in a variety of genres, including rock bands, jazz combos, classical solo and chamber groups, large orchestras, and a variety of audition and pre-screen settings. He currently works independently, and is capable of bring his recording equipment to any location. Since 2012, Eugene has worked as a music instructor in both private and classroom settings, and currently holds the faculty of jazz bass position at the Eastman Community Music School. He teaches both upright and electric bass to students of all ages. He has worked with students expressing interest in studying a wide variety of genres, ranging from jazz and classical to rock, funk, and other contemporary styles. Eugene also worked at the 2013-2019 summer sessions at Lagond Music School in Elmsford, NY, a school that teaches all aspects of contemporary music. There he taught ensembles, rhythm, improvisation, theory, and private lessons to both middle school students seeking a deeper musical education as well as high school students looking to apply to college music programs.
